- Leave Dublin by the M1 heading North.
- Exit for Ardee, turning left off the Motorway (40 mins?)
- Coming to Ardee there are 2 roundabouts, take the exits for Derry.
N2
- Now en route via Carrickmacross (Bypassed) and Castleblaney.
- Straight through Castleblaney en route to Monaghan.
- By-pass Monaghan by taking Derry exit off roundabout as you approach
Monaghan Town.
- Take exit for Derry at end of by-pass.
-Through Emyvale and on to Aughnacloy (N.Ireland)
-Turn left in Aughnacloy A5 for Omagh.
-Turn right at next T-junction (3 miles) onto Ballygawley Roundabout
and then Left off the roundabout for Omagh.
-By-pass Omagh, taking Strabane/Derry exits off roundabouts entering
and leaving the town.
-Straight on until you reach Strabane.

You are heading for Buncrana.
You can continue for Derry and follow the signs through the City
for Buncrana (left over the bridge-alongside the river and left
at Pennyburn roundabout (A2) on the far side of the city –
bringing you to Bridgend on the Donegal border).
Or
You can turn left at Strabane heading for Letterkenny. Near Letterkenny
you take a right off the roundabout for Buncrana – this will
take you straight into Bridgend also. This route is slightly longer
but more scenic.
Now take R238 for Buncrana.
- Entering Buncrana keep left on one way system. Take R238 for Carndonagh,
turning left over Cockhill bridge about 1 mile outside the town.
(There is a left turn just outside the town over a very narrow bridge
– ignore!)
- Straight on and bear left at Drumfries (The North Pole!) for Clonmany.
- As you enter Clonmany turn right after the Church on your right.
- Continue for 1 mile into Ballyliffen and at the end of the village,
after the Strand Hotel as you turn right, turn left into your destination
at the stone 2 storey house.
Total journey time 4 – 5 hours
depending on traffic and your co-pilot!
