Linda came to Ireland from London in the 1960s and
began practicing yoga soon after her arrival. She gained her Irish
Yoga Association Teacher Training Diploma in 1982.
She was teaching for a number of years in the Kildare area and then
opened a health store and yoga centre in Leixlip.
The Healthy Way gave her the opportunity to teach yoga in a special
place and to extend her education in healthcare. She has particular
interest in nutrition, menopause and childcare. After a few years
she extended her yoga experience by participating ina two year course
called Yoga of the Heart with Jenny Beeken. She took a further course
with the
Bio-Medical
Trust of London which was a two year course in Therapeutic Yoga.
It was at this time in 2001 that Yoga Therapy Ireland came into
being, Linda being one of the five who started this successful Association.
She has been a senior tutor on the teacher training courses since
its inception. She also teaches on the postgraduate courses that
are run annually.
Over the years Linda has taught a number of general classes as well
as specialised courses e.g. therapeutic classes for people with
disabilities, Dept. of Education summer courses, Transition year
students, Back to Work groups, older people in Day Care Centres
and Traveller Women's group. She is now based in Wexford but spends
time in Dublin and each year helps to run holidays in Donegal.
